IAF Seeking Two New Board Members

The Inuit Art Foundation (IAF) is seeking nominations for two (2) positions on its Board of Directors. The IAF is the sole national organization advocating on behalf of Inuit artists throughout Canada and in all artistic disciplines.

The Inuit Art Foundation is committed to reflecting its stakeholders throughout the composition of its Board. The IAF’s Board of Directors is composed of nine individuals, of which a minimum of 2/3 are Inuit, and all its Executive Members are Inuit. Directors may serve up to two (2) consecutive three (3) year terms, for a maximum amount of six (6) years of service.

Serving on the IAF’s Board of Directors is a unique opportunity to help Inuit artists have more access to opportunities. By serving on the IAF’s Board, you can help shape the direction of IAF’s programs and help ensure the IAF is working to support the best future possible for Inuit art. Board members are expected to serve as volunteers and attend five (5) board meetings annually, including two in person and three via teleconference, as well as the Annual General Meeting.

Nominations Process
Individuals may nominate themselves or others to serve on the IAF’s Board of Directors. All nominations will be reviewed by the IAF’s Governance Committee, which will recommend potential Board Members for election. The Governance Committee ensures that the IAF’s Board reflects the diversity of its stakeholders, including artistic disciplines, geography, and other skills, such as finances, human resources, legal or curatorial.
