About the Artist Portal

About

DQAP is an Inuit-only resource created by the Inuit Art Foundation for artists across Inuit Nunaat to support the development of their careers. Developed by Inuit artists for Inuit artists, this culturally-specific online portal provides a range of resources across artistic disciplines and career stages to help artists reach their own goals, wherever they are. 

DQAP is filled with ways to support every Inuk artist - working in every artistic discipline and at every career stage as a solo artist or a collective. DQAP provides easy access to grants, workshops to advance professional and material skills, and the opportunity to connect with other artists for mentorship. By providing easy access to resources, DQAP promotes greater equity and self determination within the arts community and reduces barriers for Inuit artists. 

While resources are primarily aimed at those in Canada, content is expanding consistently and will continue to respond to the needs of those throughout the rest of Inuit Nunaat. Please check out our FAQ for more information about eligibility or joining DQAP.

Logo

The Developing Qanuqtuurniq: Artist Portal logo features the letter ‘Q’ for Qanuqtuurniq, the Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principle that means, “being innovative and resourceful”. This Q also resembles an Inuit drum and an iglu seen from above. The centre of the Q represents the key block of the iglu that holds everything up. It symbolizes our view that art is at the centre of everything we do, and our mission to provide support to artists to help build their careers.

DQAP is a safe and inclusive space that extends to connections made outside of the Portal. Ensure you read DQAP Terms of Service and the IAF's Policies for eligibility and Anti-Violence, Anti-Harassment and Harm Reduction Policies. Since DQAP is part of the Inuit Art Foundation, it is beneficial to read the IAF terms of use.
