Biography

Ethan Tassiuk is an emerging filmmaker from Arviat, NU, who works at the Arviat Film Society as a casting director, camera-person, and production editor. Tassiuk has been involved in film since the age of twelve, and frequently uses his camera to advocate for the health of his community. Tassiuk has made multiple anti-bulling videos, and co-starred in a safe-sex PSA. An interview with Tassiuk was featured in TIME Magazine’s The Science of Our Childhood in September 2017. Later that year, Tassiuk co-authored a paper which was presented at the Pathways to Resilience international summit in South Africa. In 2019 Tassiuk, alongside two other young Inuit filmmakers, traveled to the Venice Biennale to meet artists and filmmakers, and to attend the opening of Isuma’s exhibition at the Canada Pavilion.View Long Biography and Citations
