Biography

Heather Kayotak is a carver from Iglulik (Igloolik), NU. She is the daughter of Marius and Yvonne Kayotak, whose antler carvings were very influential on her work. Kayotak took courses at Nunavut Arctic College, where she learned jewellery-making skills. The training she received at NAC is reflected in the incredible detail in her antler and bone carvings. She is well-known for her antler carvings of Inuit woman fishing, picking berries, and stretching skins.View Long Biography and Citations
