Biography

Kara Montague is self-taught beader and carving apprentice to artist Billy Gauthier who lives in North West River, NL. Montague creates with locally sourced materials such as porcupine quills, bone, antler and beads from local craft shops. Her elaborately crafted pendants, earrings, and carvings draw inspiration from the land, the colours of fall and spring, a flowing river and the local flora. Montague has a drive to create and learn that she satiates with practice, research and a healthy amount of persistence.View Long Biography and Citations
