Artistic Community:

Kangiqtugaapik (Clyde River), NU

Date of Birth:

Artists may have multiple birth years listed as a result of when and where they were born. For example, an artist born in the early twentieth century in a camp outside of a community centre may not know/have known their exact date of birth and identified different years.

Based in Kangiqtugaapik (Clyde River), NU, photographer Niore Iqalukjuak documents vibrant community scenes, stunning landscapes, Arctic wildlife and much more. Iqalukjuak has gained international recognition for his images and was included in the touring exhibition "Floe Edge: Contemporary Art and Collaboration from Nunavut." His well-known image of an illuminated igloo was displayed on the tail of a First Air plane in 2016. Iqalukjuak was profiled in the Winter 2016 issue of the "Inuit Art Quarterly."View Long Biography and Citations
