Biography

Ross Flowers is a drum and kayak maker from Hopedale, Nunatsiavut, NL who works collaboratively with his wife, Lise Flowers. One of the few established Inuit drum makers working today, Flowers sources his materials locally. The wood he uses is mostly birch and juniper from the forests around Hopedale, and he sources the cloth from Happy-Valley – Goose Bay, Nunatsiavut, NL. He crafts drums of different sizes for performers of all ages, and has sold drums to people in communities as far as Montreal, QC, Kuukkuaq, Nunavik, QC, and Uqsuqtuuq (Gjoa Haven), NU.View Long Biography and Citations
