Biography
Tim Pitsiulak was a Kinngait (Cape Dorset), NU-based artist who worked primarily in drawing and printmaking. He first gained broader attention in 2005 through the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection, followed by solo shows at Feheley Fine Arts in 2009. A prolific hunter, Pitsiulak spent much of his time on the land and is best known for his highly detailed renderings of walruses, whales and other marine life. Through both his photographs of the landscape and its inhabitants as well as his stunningly rich drawings and prints, Pitsiulak translated his experiences of daily Arctic life into a rich, graphic world.
