The Igloo Tag Trademark is an internationally recognized symbol that denotes handmade, original artwork made by Inuit artists in Canada. Biography

Alain Iyerak was a sculptor from Iglulik (Igloolik), NU, who worked in bone, stone, and antler to depict traditional Inuit life. His son is the sculptor Joseph Qulluak Iyerak. Iyerak’s works are held in public collections at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and Musse de beaux-arts in Montreal, among others, and he was most recently featured in the 2018 exhibit Ivory, Bone, Antler and Horn: Masterworks of Inuit Sculpture at the McMichael Gallery. One of his sculptures is on permanent display at the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly, and another was presented to the Speaker of the House of Commons in 1967 for use in the Commonwealth Room of the Ottawa Parliament Building.View Long Biography and Citations
