Biography
Mayoreak Ashoona is a graphic artist based in Kinngait (Cape Dorset). In 1963, she gained prominence for her imaginative and colourful drawings and her dynamic and unique work. Since the first publication of her work in 1978, Ashoona has been consistently represented in the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection. Ashoona's work has been exhibited in Canada and internationally. She was elected as a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2003.
