Ilisarniq Workshop: Applying for Canada Council for the Arts Funds

Register Now

Could your art practice benefit from financial support? Need funding for a new, ambitious project?

Join us for a workshop designed specifically for Inuit artists to apply for funding from Canada Council for the Arts! We’ll be walking through the ins and outs of setting up a CCA profile online, and submitting a complete application with Isidra Cruz, a program officer at CCA.

Whether you’ve applied for grants before or have never submitted, this workshop is for you! Returning applicants will have the chance to brush up on the details and learn about changes to the process in 2024.

Participants will walk away with a solid understanding of the application process ahead of the next Creating, Knowing and Sharing Short-Term Projects deadline on March 20th.

During a follow-up session the following week, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 between 2 and 4pm ET, Isidra will offer a limited number of one-on-one consultations on Canada Council funding applications for Inuit artists only. Registration details for one-on-one support can be found here.

Isidra Cruz is a Mexican/Cree arts administrator and costume designer from George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan. She has worked with the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Festival, the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council and the Indigenous Community Performing Arts Fund. Her most recent design credits include Two Odysseys: Pimooteewin / Gállábártnit, with Signal Theatre, This is How We Got Here, by Keith Barker, and Run Woman Run, by Zoe Hopkins. Isidra is currently a program officer in Creating, Knowing and Sharing: The Arts and Cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Metis Peoples at the Canada Council for the Arts.
