Biography
Born and raised in Treaty 7 Territory in Calgary, AB, near the Bearspaw, Chiniki and Wesley bands of the Nakoda nation, Alberta Rose Williams finds passion in art, food, politics and social issues. These interests are expressed through any medium as well as engagement with community organizations and events. Often working with reclaimed or rescued materials in her art making, Williams takes an intuitive and mindful approach to art. In part, this is a conscious choice regarding the amount of waste in our society, as well as a symbolic gesture adding to the reclamation of identity.
