Biography
A former teacher, Iqaluit-based seamstress and entrepreneur Emily Joanasie is the owner of Miqsuqta! fabric store in Iqaluit, NU and a featured designer with Canada Goose’s Project Atigi line of parkas. Learning how to sew after the birth of her second child, Joanasie now has over ten years of experience as a seamstress and specializes in amautis and parkas. She sews both for her family and for sale and hopes to one day create warm garments to dress her future grandchildren.
