Karlyn Blake

Artist

Crafting since an early age when she was inspired to experiment with beads after receiving some as a gift from a relative at age 10, jeweller Karlyn Blake now creates and sells intricately beaded earrings under the label “Designs by Karjoy”. Selling her work largely through the digital marketplace, Blake has had her work featured in Tusaayaksat Magazine. Among her most inventive designs incorporate moosehide, beadwork and discharged bullets used by her husband on his hunting trips and then filed down.

Outside of jewellery making, Blake is now also beginning to create moccasins and slippers. Her work has been admired and purchased via Instagram across Canada and the world.
