Can Inuit artists living inside of Ontario apply for Sutaarutit?

No, Inuit visual artists must live outside of Ontario to apply; If you are an Inuit visual artist living in Ontario, you have the same opportunity to apply to the Ontario Arts Council’s Indigenous Visual Artist Materials Grant instead.


Can I apply to multiple streams?

No, you cannot submit applications to multiple streams. Please choose whichever stream best suits your needs.


How old do I need to be to apply for Kajungiqsaut?

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for all streams of Kajungiqsaut.

 

Will I receive feedback on my application whether I am successful or not?

Yes, whether or not your application is approved, IAF can provide you with feedback. Please note that it is an all Inuit, external, Peer Assessment Committee that reviews applications and decides which will receive funding.


Can I provide feedback on the application process?

Yes! We encourage feedback on all our programs including the application and evaluation processes.


Can students apply?

Yes students can apply, but this is not a scholarship program so funds cannot be used towards tuition.


Where can I find resources to help me write my application?

We have great resources on our website, including a Helpful Hints resource. You can also reach out to our Program Officer for tips on writing your application.


When will I find out if my application was approved?

Applicants will find out 4 weeks after the application deadline.


Can I apply to Kajungiqsaut Grants and Canada Council for the Arts to fund the same project?

Yes, as long as your project budget can clearly define how funds from Kajungiqsaut Grants are for expenses that are not those requested in your Canada Council application.
